Lance McCullers Jr continues to shine in his return, after a rough first three outings the Cuban-American righty has been immaculate in his last two starts. McCullers tossed six innings of scoreless baseball in which he only allowed two hits and struck out seven in Houston’s 3-0 blanking of Pittsburgh.
McCullers registered his second straight quality start and saw his ERA descend to 4.44 on the season. After missing nearly two years the right-hander is starting to find his form on the mound.
Another Cuban-American pitcher, Carlos Rodón is making his case for the All-Star Game. In last night’s contest the right-hander threw seven innings in which he only surrendered five hits and an earned run, while also striking out eight. The Yankees outlasted Cleveland 3-2 and Rodón now sports a sparkling 2.49 earned run average on the season.
