The two islanders are now hitting .500 and .286 respectively to start the campaign.
José Abreu and Yordan Álvarez combined for five hits, two runs batted in and scored on two occasions to power the Houston Astros’ victory 6-4 over the Chicago WhiteSox. Abreu saw his average jump to .333 on the young season while Álvarez is hitting a robust .455 and has driven in five runs in the first three games of the season.
For Chicago Yoan Moncada deposited his first ball in the seats in his only hit in five at bats, but his efforts couldn’t prevent the pale holes from dropping their second game in a row to the bunch from Space City. Touted rookie Óscar Luis Colas swatted two hits in four AB’s and scored a run in defeat.

John Fortes went yard for the first time this season but his longball and two RBI’s was not enough to help the Marlins on the night, the fish dropped the third game of a four game set 6-2 to the Mets. The Cuban-American catcher drove in his first two runs of the season and is now hitting .429 on the campaign.
Adolis García had three base knocks, drove in a run and even scored twice to do his part in a 16-3 lambasting of the Philadelphia Phillies by Texas. The Ciego de Ávila, Cuba native has started the season hitting a torrid .625. For the losers Nick Castellanos swatted two doubles and brought two runs home to see his average jump to .444 on the season.
