Yoan Moncada swatted three hits in four trips to the plate appearances, all while going yard and banging out two doubles in the ChiSox’s 6-3 victory over the Astros. The Cienfuegos, Cuba native also knocked in two and scored occasions to lead his squad on the evening. The third baseman is off to a torrid start this season hitting a robust .444 and driving in four runs in the first series of the year for the team from the Windy City.
Luis Robert and rookie sensation Óscar Luis Colas also aided the cause by combining for five hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Robert’s line drive shot to left in the five inning opened up the scoring for the Sox’s. Cuban backstop Yasmani Grandal also chipped in three hits for the pale holes and watch his average jump to .417 on the young season.

José Abreu collected two hits in his four AB’s and drove in a run for the texans in a loss. In his first four games for the team from the Space City the veteran slugger has hit .375 and driven in two. Not a bad start for the team’s prized free agent acquisition this offseason.
Jorge Soler hit a run scoring duoble in the bottom of the first for his only hit of the night in four opportunities at the plate and it was also the only run the Marlins scored in their 5-1 loss to the New York Mets. The outfielder was the only bright spot for the fish in another dismal performance. Yuli Gurriel who started at first on the night chipped in a single in four at bats to leave his average at .286 after the season’s first of which Miami dropped three of four games to the visitors from Gotham.
