Michel Triana knocks in three to pace Daytona to victory (+Cuban MiLB Report)

Michel Triana of the Daytona Tortugas really stood out in yesterday’s games and might turning the corner after a rough start to the season. The Cincinnati Reds prospect had a three RBI day and one hit to do his parts in farm club’s victory over the St. Lucie Mets. “El Animal” as he is known by the Cuban is now hitting .167 on the season and drove his first three runs of the season.

In AA César Prieto continues his torrid hitting after starting the season 0-for-5 the Cuban infielder has gone six for his last 10. In yesterday’s loss by the Bowie Bowsox to the Hartford Yard Goats. With three singles and a run scored the infielder watched his average jump to a robust .429 and is slashing solid .467/.500/.967.

Edgar Quero had a multi-hit game, but his team (Rocket City Trash Pandas) could not avoid a 7-5 defeat to the Chattanooga Lookouts in the first game of their double header. The prized prospect went 2-for-3, with a pair of singles, two RBIs and a walk ; he raised his offensive average to .375 .

In AAA Andy Ibáñez continues to make himself felt with wood. The infielder banged out two hits in five trips to the plate and scored a run in the Toledo Mudhens 13-8 loss to the Omaha Storm Chasers. Ibáñez who is hitting .269 on the season is looking to make his way back to the majors this year. The 30 year old Cuban is looking to catch his rhythm after coming back from a injury to one of his fingers.
