Yuli Gurriel launched his first homerun as a Marlin and the 95th of his career in fish’s 15-3 loss to the Phillies. Gurriel who has been a part-time player with the team from South Florida this season also knocked in his first run with the Miamians and is hitting a robust .375 on the campaign.
Cuban-American Nick Castellanos was the offensive star for the northerners. The native of the magic city went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored to raise his average to .278. Castellanos has also swatted a league leading seven doubles on the year.
Yasmani Grandal collected two hits, drove in a run and scored on another occasion to do his part in the Whitesox’ s triumph 4-3 versus the Twins. The Cuban backstop is hitting a solid .313 during the month of April and has now driven in five runs on the season.

Yordan Álvarez keeps swinging a hot stick for the team from the Space City. On the night the giant from Las Tunas, Cuba connected on three hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in three runs to lead the Astros to a 8-2 victory over the Pirates. Álvarez in his own rights leads the majors with 16 runs batted in on the young season.
Adolis García hit his second homer of the season, a grand slam in the sixth inning to power the Rangers shalacking of the Kansas City Royals 11-2. The outfielder from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba is hitting a miniscule .225, but has nine RBIs. García has driven in 100 runs each of the two seasons for the team from Arlington.
