Guillermo Heredia goes yard in SSG’s loss to Samsung

Only two Cubans saw action this morning in the major and minor league Asian circuits. Ex- big leaguer Guillermo Heredia and prized prospect Pedro Revilla were the two that were in the lineups of there respective teams on the day.

Heredia hit his second home run of the season in the KBO, a 360ft shot to left field in Daegu Park in SSG’s 11-9 loss to the Samsung Lions. The defending Champs prized offseason acquisition is paying dividends so far at the plate on the campaign.

The Cuban outfielder had three hits in four at-bats and drove in four runs. Heredia upped his average to .382 on the season and has now driven in eight runs in eight games in the Korean circuit.

The last time the Matanzas, Cuba native had a three-hit, four RBI game was April 18, 2021 at Wrigley Field in Chicago; with the Atlanta Braves and against the pitching of the “Windy City” squad one that day was also coincidentally his only multi-home run game in the big leagues.

In the NPB’s minor leagues prospect Pedro Revilla went 0-for-4 in Chunichi’s 3-2 loss to the Hanshin Tigers second team 3-2. The prospect is now hitting .208 on the year and the Dragons have lost 11 straight games on the season.
