Yennier Canó has been spectacular since being called up to the majors. Last night the Cuban right-hander pitched a scoreless ninth inning in which he fanned two of the three batters to notch the first save of his career in big leagues in Baltimore’s 5-4 victory over the Redsox. In seven innings this year the flamethrower has not given up a run, held three games and struck out nine.
For Boston Tristón Casas went yard for the third on the season and drove in a run to do his part in the loss to the Orioles. Although Casas has driven in eight runs on the season he’s hitting a paltry .136.
Randy Arozarena drove in two runs via a triple in the bottom of the first and a sacrifice fly in the bottom, all while also scoring two times to aid Tampa in their 8-3 win over the Houston Astros. The outfielder from Pinar del Río, Cuba watched his average jump to .353 and is amongst the league leaders with 24 runs batted in on the season
