Nick Castellanos went yard for the third time on the season and drove in three runs to lead the defending NL champion Phillies to a 6-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners. The Cuban-American outfielder who is hitting .333 on the campaign has driven in six runs and stroked three homeruns in his last seven games.
Adolis García knocked in his league leading 29th run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning, but his efforts were not enough to prevent a Rangers 5-3 defeat at the hands of Cincinnati. The Ciego de Avila, Cuba native has now driven in 24 runs in his last 15 games.
Yennier Canó secured his fourth hold after pitching 1.2 innings of hitless relief in Baltimore’s 6-2 triumph over the Boston Red Sox to keep his ERA at 0.00 on the season. The hard throwing righty has now retired all 26 batters he has faced this year and 10 have been via the strikeout.
