Odrisamer Despaigne reverted to form last night after a disastrous first start in the Mexican League. The right-hander from Havana threw six innings where he gave up one run via five hits and fanned six to notch his first victory of the season. The hurler watched his ERA drop to 6.75 and Guadalajara downed Dos Laredos 2-1.
Dariel Álvarez aided his countrymen’s cause with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning that turned out to be the difference in the contest. The outfielder is now hitting a robust .381 on the campaign.
Although Félix Pérez is hitting a paltry .167, the outfielder from the Isle of Youth hit a towering three-run to right in the first inning to get Tijuana started on the right foot in their 5-4 victory over Union Laguna. The reigning league MVP also increased his RBI total to seven on the season.
