Aroldis Chapman wins his first game with Kansas City (+Cuban MLB Report)

Aroldis Chapman pitched an eighth inning where he fanned two of the three batters he faced, the Cuban lefty also won his first game with Kansas City Royals in the team’s 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins. In 10 ⅓ innings pitched Chapman has struck out 19 batters and has an ERA of 1.74.

Randy Arozarena continues to have a hot start to the campaign with the lumber. In tonight’s game versus the White Sox the outfielder went yard twice and drove in four runs to lead the Tampa Bay Rays in the 12-3 shalacking of the Windy City ball club. Arozarena has now slugged seven roundtrippers, knocked in 28 runs and is slashing .333/.400/.590/.990 on the season.

Nick Martinez was a key figure in shutting down San Francisco’s offense in the Giants 16-11 loss to the San Diego Padres. The righty from Miami toed the rubber for the last two innings retiring five of the six batters he faced via the strikeout and notched his first save of the season. In 29 ⅔ innings pitched the season the Cuban-American has posted an earned run average of 3.34.
