Yadiel Hernández homers in Monterrey’s win. (+Mexican League Report)

Yadiel Hernández collected two hits in five at-bats, one of them being his second longball on the season and also drove in three runs to lead Monterrey to an 11-7 win over Unión Laguna. The outfielder also scored twice and is now hitting .310 on the campaign.

Yoennis Yera was masterful in Tabasco’s 7-0 shutout of Puebla. The lefty from Matanzas, Cuba only gave up a hit in five innings of work and struck out three to watch his ERA fall to 2.89 on the season. Roel Santos aided his countrymen with three hits, a run driven in and also scored a run.

Félix Pérez banged out two hits in four at-bats and knocked in a run, but Tijuana still fell to Aguascalientes 10-8. The reigning league MVP is third in the circuit in RBIs with six.
