Roenis Elías debuts in the KBO. (+Asian League Report)

Roenis Elias made his first start with the SSG Landers’ minor league squad against Samsung Lions tossing 3.2 innings, allowing four hits, no earned runs and striking out two with a his fastball staying consistently at 91 MPH.

The game was held in Gyeongsan with Elías throwing a total of 60 pitches (39 for strikes) and the Landers coming out victorious 7-2. The manager of the SSG’s second squad Lee Dae-so had this to say about the left-hander’s performance, ” Considering the wet conditions due to the rain his control was very good, as was his rhythm. His change-up kept right-handed hitters off balance and his curve was nearly unhittable.”

In a major league game with the Landers Guillermo Heredia collected two hits in four at-bats and also scored a run, but his best efforts could not stave off a defeat to the Lotte Giants 7-5. Heredia leads the KBO with a .361 batting average.

Liván Moinelo allowed a scoreless hit in relief to improve his ERA to 1.50 in the SoftBank Falcons’ 5-4 win over the Seibu Lions at the Fukuoka Pay Pay Dome. In 12 innings pitched this season Moinelo has struck out batters.
