Adolis García collected a hit, knocked a run and scored on another occasion to do his part in Texas’ 16-6 thrashing of Seattle. The outfielder from Ciego de Avila, Cuba hits .257 is now second in the league with 50 runs batted on the season.

Miguel Vargas laced a 7th inning triple that knocked in a run and also scored a run in that same inning, but his best efforts could not prevent a Dodger 6-3 defeat at the hand of the Yankees. The young second baseman is now batting .223 on the campaign and broke a slump that saw him hitting .130 over his last seven games.

Nick Martinez notched his fifth hold on the season in an inning of work in relief and struck out two to aid San Diego in their 6-0 blanking of the Cubs. The Cuban-American righty has an ERA of 2.64 and fanned 39 batters on the year.
