Liván Moinelo notched his second save of the year after not allowing any hits or runs in an inning of relief in the SoftBank Hawks 3-2 win over the Hiroshima Carpas. The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba struck out a one and issued a walk during the game, his ERA improved to 1.00 on the season.

In 18 innings pitched this season the hurler has fanned 22 batters and sports a WHIP of 0.75.

Ariel Martinez failed in three trips to the plate, but drove in a run by drawing a bases-loaded walk to help the Nippon Ham Fighters in 10-3 thrashing of the Yomiuri Giants at Tokyo Dome. The Cuban catcher saw his average drop to .246, but he increased his RBI total to 16 on the season.
