Yoanner Negrín wins his fifth and Yucatán downs Campeche. (+Mexican League Report)

Yoanner Negrín tossed five innings in which he gave up two earned runs via four hits and struck out three to notch his fifth win of the campaign. The right-hander saw his ERA drop to 5.98 and Yucatán downed Campeche 9-5.

Negrín will represent México in the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games. Yadir Drake swatted two hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in three runs to aid his countrymen’s cause. The outfielder from Matanzas, Cuba saw his average rise to .355 on the season.

Félix Pérez went downtown for the league leading 15th time on the season, a three-run shot in the eighth inning that helped seal Tijuana’s 9-3 victory over Veracruz. The reigning league MVP is now also tied for the LMB lead in RBIs with 51.
