Carlos Juan Viera notched his third victory of the year after tossing five innings of three-hit and one-run ball in Tabasco’s 12-1 win over Campeche. The right-hander from Las Tunas, Cuba also fanned three and watched his ERA fall to 3.32 heading into the Central American and Caribbean Games.
Roel Santos and Maikel Serrano combined for four hits, a homerun, three RBIs and three runs to aid their countrymen’s cause. Santos (.288) will also be off to the JCC games, while Serrano (.280) will anchor the offense during the outfielder’s absence.
Pavel Hernández threw 4 ⅓ innings of scoreless relief in Aguascalientes 7-4 loss at the hands of Quintana Roo. The right from Havana who is starting to find his way on the mound after a rough start only allowed five hits on the evening and is becoming one of the Rieleros most reliable pitchers.
