Yennier Canó continues to make his case for an All-Star berth. In yesterday’s 6-3 victory by Baltimore over the Cubs the Cuban righty tossed 1⅓ innings of scoreless ball to notched his 16th hold of the campaign, which places him second in the majors in that statistical category. The flamethrower who is one of top setup men in the big leagues saw his ERA fall to 0.99 on the season.

Nolan Arenado went yard twice and drove in three runs in the Cardinals 8-7 win over the Mets. The Cuban-American third baseman now hits .276 to go along with 48 runs batted in on the campaign. Arenado without a doubt is making a good case for an All-Star Game berth.

Andy Ibáñez collected three hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in a run via a fifth inning single to so his part in Detroit’s 6-4 triumph versus Minnesota. The infielder from the Isle of Youth is slashing .478/.538/.957/1.495 with two homeruns over his last seven games.

Aledmys Díaz swatted his second longball of the season, drove in a run and scored on another occasion, but his best efforts couldn’t save Oakland from a 3-2 loss to the Phillies. The utility man from Villa Clara, Cuba watched his average jump to .211 on the season.
