Odrisamer Despaigne is finally finding his niche in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. The right-hander from Havana notched his second straight dominant outing on the mound for the Mariachis and win to even his record to 4-4 on the campaign.
Last night the hurler tossed five innings where he only allowed one run via five hits and fanned five in Guadalajara’s 9-2 win versus Dos Laredos. The right also watched his ERA descend to 5.40 on the season. Heading into the second half of the season he could a determining factor in the team’s rotation.
Yadiel Hernández went yard for the fifth time on the season in ninth inning to put a cherry on Monterrey’s 11-5 win over Mexico City. The native of Matanzas, Cuba is now hitting .317 on the season and has also driven in 27 runs with the Sultanes. Hernández and his timely hitting have made him a fixture in the left field for the aztec squad.
