Manoah makes a triumphant return after his stint in the minors. (+Cuban MLB Report)

After his stint in the minors Alek Manoah made a triumphant return. The right-hander from Miami tossed six innings where he gave up five hits, one earned run and fanned eight. The flamethrower help Toronto to a 12-2 thrashing of Detroit. The hurler saw his ERA drop to 5.91 on the season.

Raisel Iglesias notched his 16th save of the season after pitching a scoreless ninth in which he gave up a hit and struck out one. The righty from the Isle of Youth also saw his earned run average fall to 3.76 on the season.

Adolis García deposited his 23rd ball in the stands, drove in two and scored on two occasions to be the catalyst of Texas’ 7-2 win over Washington. García now leads all of MLB with 71 RBIs and has knocked it 15 runs in his last 15 games.

Nolan Arenado is on a tear going into the All-Star Game. Last night the Cuban-American slugger went yard twice and drove four runs, but his best efforts couldn’t save the Cardinals from an 8-7 defeat at the hands of the Whitesox’s. For the pale holes Luis Robert connected on his 26th longball of the season in his five trips to the plate. The outfielder leads all Cubans in homeruns on the campaign.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr had himself another grand evening. The left fielder from Sancti Spíritus, Cuba knocked four runs via a double and a dinger. The All-Star heads into the break with 54 runs batted in and is hitting a solid .269.
