J.D. goes yard in LA’s win. (+Cuban MLB Report)

J.D. Martínez went yard for the 22nd time on the campaign, a solo shot in the sixth inning. The six-time All-Star also scored on an occasion to do his part in the Dodgers’ 10-5 victory over their cross-town rival Angels. The Cuban-American slugger has now driven in 62 runs on the campaign.

Another Martínez, Nick tossed a scoreless inning in relief where he fanned all three batters he faced in San Diego’s 3-1 win over the Mets. The right-hander also notched his 11th hold and watched his ERA drop to 3.90.

Jorge Soler hit his 23rd dinger of the year, a two-run blast in Miami’s 5-3 triump over the Phillies. “El Crudo” as he is known by the Cuban faithful also knocked in two runs and now also sports a robust .881 OPS on the season. Soler will also be part of the All-Star Game in Seattle.
