Aroldis Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth where he fanned two batters and gave up a hit in Texas’ 2-0 blanking of Cleveland. The hurler from Holguín, Cuba notched his first save in a Ranger uniform and watched his ERA descend to 2.10 on the season. The flamethrowing left-hander now has 318 saves in his career.
Tristón Casas went yard for the 11th time on the campaign in four trips to the plate and also knocked in two runs to account for half of the Red Sox’s runs in their 10-4 loss to the Cubs. The Cuban-American slugger went yard for the second consecutive night and is now hitting .284 in the last month.

Johan Oviedo was masterful tossing seven innings of one-hit one-run ball, but went with another no-decision in Pittsburgh’s 3-1 loss to San Francisco. The righty from Havana also retired 10 via strikeout, but has now gone winless in has last seven trips to the mound.
José Abreu went yard for the 8th time on the campaign and drove in three, but the Houston Astros still fell to Los Angeles in extra innings 12-11. The first baseman who has not had a good first half has still driven 49 runs this year and watched his average rise to .245 on the campaign. Abreu has 13 RBIs over his last 15 games and is also hitting .310 over that same span.
