Although he only tossed a third of an inning in Baltimore’s 6-5 win over Tampa Bay, Cionel Pérez still managed to win his third game of the season. The lefty from Boca de Camariaoca, Cuba struck out the only batter he faced to watch his ERA fall to 4.68.

His teammate and fellow hurler Yennier Cano also tossed ⅔ of an inning without allowing a run to also aid the cause to watch his earned run average fall to 1.51. In defeat for Tampa Randy Arozarena swatted two hits and drove in a run for the Rays.

J.D. Martínez went yard for the 24th time on the season and knocked in four runs to lead Los Angeles in their 16-3 thrashing of the Texas Rangers. The Cuban-American slugger also knocked in four runs on the evening to augment his total on the season to 73. The Miamian is hitting a robust .345 in his last seven games.
