Yandy Diaz and Randy Arozarena combined for two hits, both of them being longballs and knocked in two runs two lead Tampa Bay to a 5-2 win over the Yankees. Arozarena broke a slump that saw him hitting .043 in his last seven games. For Díaz it was his 15th roundtripper of the year to go along with 52 RBIs.
Adolis García went yard for the 26th time on the campaign, drove in a run and scored on another occasion to account for half of Texas’ output in their 2-0 blanking of the White Sox. The native of Ciego de Ávila, Cuba is second in MLB with 85 runs batted in on the season.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr is showing signs of life with the lumber after a putrid month at the plate. The youngest of the Gurriel clan drove in a run for the second day in a row, this time via the longball, but Arizona still fell to San Francisco 4-3. The outfielder is hitting a paltry .180 after the All-Star break.
