Peter O’Brien homers in Puebla’s win (+Mexican League Report)

Peter O’Brien hit his 20th longball of the season and drove in two runs to lead Puebla to a 5-2 victory over Yucatán. The Cuban-American slugger had his best season as a pro hitting .316, driving in 59 runs and was ninth in the league with a .990 OPS.

Felix Pérez collected two hits in four trips to the plate and drove in two runs to do his part in Tijuana’s 8-7 win over Durango. The native of the Isle of Youth closed the campaign with 59 runs batted and finished six in the league in homeruns (60).

Albert Lara swatted three hits in four at-bats, knocked in a run and also scored a run, but his best efforts couldn’t prevent a Unión Laguna 13-6 loss to Monclova. The up-and-coming player finished the season with a robust .328 average.
