Adolis García hit the first longball of his career in the postseason, a solo-shot in the top of the 4th to help pace a Rangers four run inning that was the decisive stanza in the team’s 7-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. With that victory the team advanced to the next round of the postseason where they will face the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr collected a hit in four trips to the plate and knocked in a run to help Arizona complete their sweep of Milwaukee with a 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks. For the youngest of the Gurriel clan it was his first career RBI in the postseason. The team from the desert will now move on to face the Dodgers in the second phase of the playoffs.

Although Nick Castellanos did not connect on hit in his four at-bats the Cuban-American slugger still managed to score a run in by reaching on an error in a four run seventh Philadelphia’s 7-1 thrashing of the Miami, thereby ousting the fish from the playoffs and completing a sweep of the Floridians.
Castellanos is now hitting .250 in the playoffs. The outfielder who has nine postseason RBIs will be a key figure in the Phillies quest to return to the World Series. Philadelphia will now travel to Atlanta Saturday to knock off the top seed in the postseason and a team wanting revenge for their loss to the Phillies in last seasons playoffs.
