Two days after being plunked for showboating a homerun by a 100 MPH Bryan Abreu fastball, Adolis García got even in poetic fashion by swatting a key grand slam in Texas’ 9-2 thrashing of Houston.
The Cuban outfielder was not having his best day of the playoffs fanning four times in his previous four trips to the plate, then he ran into a Ryan Stanek pitch putting an exclamation point on the Rangers win over their arch-rival. On the postseason García is now hitting .277 with five homeruns, leaving second to only his countrymen Yordan Álvarez during the playoffs in that stat.

The slugger also leads the postseason with 15 runs batted in and sports a robust .923 OPS. García and his 13 hits place him third amongst all hitters in that statistical category during this phase of the tournament. Without a doubt the native of the Ciego de Ávila, Cuba has been a protagonist in the Rangers’ offense in their three playoff series.
Texas and Houston face off tonight in a decisive game seven at Minute Maid Field at 8:03 PM, for the Astros Cristian Javier will take the mound, while the playoff tested Max Scherzer will toe the rubber for Texas. The winner of the contest will punch their ticket to the World Series.
