Gurriel drives in a run and Arizona evens the World Series at 1. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Lourdes Gurriel Jr collected two hits in three trips to the plate and knocked in a run to do his part in Arizona’s 9-1 thrashing of the Texas Rangers to even the World Series at one heading back to Arizona. The youngest of the Gurriel clan is now hitting a solid .268 and has also driven in seven runs on the postseason.

Game 1 hero Adolis García went hitless in three trips to the plate for Texas, fanned twice and also drew a walk for the Rangers. The ALCS MVP watched his average fall to a still robust .339 and his OPS remains a gawdy 1.154 in the playoffs.

The series now heads to the desert with the home field advantage swinging to the DBacks due to their victory in Game 2. Game 3 will be on Monday at 8:03 at Chase Field, Max Scherzer will toe the rubber and Brandon Pfaadt will oppose the righty on the mound for the snakes.

On another note for the seventh year in a row a Gurriel will see action in the playoffs, a record for a pair of siblings that have played at the big league level. With the next three games in Arizona, the Diamondbacks look to put a stranglehold on the series and possibly end it on their home field with a little luck. In a seesaw first two games expect more fireworks from both offenses in Game 3.
