Diosbel Arias collected three hits in five trips to the plate, went yard for the first time on the season and drove in a run to lead los Toros del Este to a 7-4 win over the Leones del Escogido. The Rangers prospect has been a pleasant surprise for the team from La Romana, Dominican Republic hitting a robust .308 over the early part of the season.
César Prieto swatted two hits in five trips to the plate, on of them being a key triple in three-run game defining 7th inning to his part in last Águilas 9-8 win over arch-rival Licey. The Cuban infielder is now hitting a gawdy .351 on the campaign. Yadiel Hernández aided the cause with a hit and RBI in four at-bats. The outfielder is third in batting average (.455).
In México Peter O’Brien deposited his fourth ball in seats on the campaign and for the second time in as many days. The Cuban-American slugger also knocked in a run and scored on occasion , but Culiacán was thrashed by Guasave 10-3. O’Brien is second in the Liga ARCO in longballs on the early season.
