Yoelquis Guibert started slow in his reincorporation with Guasave after his stint with Cuba in the Pan-American Games. Last night the outfielder put the Mexican circuit on notice of his talents by swatting a double, going yard and driving in three runs in Guasave’s narrow 8-7 loss to Monterrey. Félix Pérez slugged his Liga ARCO league leading seventh longball of the season and drove in two runs to spearhead Jalisco’s 5-1 win over Hermosillo. The slugger from the Isle of Youth also took the league lead in RBIs with 19.

In Puerto Rico Yanquiel Fernández continues to exhibit his immense talent. On a night after he homered to open the season the slugger had a perfect 3-for-3 evening and drove in a run to do his part in Ponce’s 4-0 shutout of Mayagüez. The Rockies’ prospect is a hitting an eye-popping .571 to open the season in the LBPRC.
In Nicaragua Dayán García stroked a key three-run in the top of the first inning to give Chinandega an early 3-0 lead. Although it was his only hit on the day and it was enough to pace the Tigres 6-5 victory over Bóer. The power-hitting third baseman also scored a run on the day.
