Odrisamer Despaigne is brilliant in the Yaquis win. (+Winter League Report)

Odrisamer Despaigne has now posted back-to-back dominant starts after a slow start in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico. The right-hander from Havana was masterful last night with Ciudad Obregón tossing seven innings of five-hit, one-run ball in the Yaquis’ 4-1 win over Los Mochis. The hurler also fanned five and now boasts a solid 3.98 ERA in the circuit.

Yoelquis Guibert continues to distinguish himself with wood in the Liga ARCO. Last night the outfielder collected a hit in three trips to the plate and scored a run to do his part in 2-0 blanking of Jalisco. Yadir Drake also aided the cause a double in two trips to the plate, the sluggers now hit .346 and .313 respectively.

Although Ariel Miranda fanned seven in 2 ⅔ innings of work the lefty was very wild and also walked four hitters leading to him being removed after 70 pitches. The hurler from Mayabeque, Cuba also did not allow a run or hit. Miranda now sports a 3.06 and is second in the LIDOM with 19 strikeouts.
