García has flown under the radar for sometime now, the infielder is one of the most underrated talents that remains on the island. García is one of the players who has faired best with lumber in the Serie Nacional over recent years. He has cranked out over a 1,000 hits during his career in Cuba.
First he was a member of the Cuban team that was in the Pre-Olympic of the Americas and now he also had the opportunity to be part of a team along with several players who play in professional baseball. Without a doubt, the native of San Antonio de los Baños, province of Artemisa, is a player on the rise.
Although he didn’t see much action in the WBC he was on of the few players exclusively from the Serie Nacional to make the squad. Last season in the Cuban circuit García hit .377 with 15 homeruns, 51 runs batted in and slashed a robust .487/.627/1.114.
