Gurriel who was a secondary player in the Daulton Varsho trade was a key figure in Arizona’s playoff run hitting a solid .288 in the postseason, while also going yard three times and also driving in 11 runs over that span. The outfielder also made the All-Star team for the first time in his career last season and posted a career-high WAR of 3.0.
Not only did the slugger hit 20 homeruns for the third time in his career , but he also was second amongst leftfielders with 14 DRS. Bringing back Gurriel not only keeps intact an NL Champion, but also shows that management is committed to keeping together a young talented team.
