Lázaro Blanco made his debut with Caracas and looked dominant on the mound. Although he didn’t factor in the decision in Leones 3-2 win over their arch-rival Magallanes the Cuban hurler tossed five innings in which he gave up a run via five hits and fanned two batters. The right-hander now sports a 1.80 earned run average after his first outing.
In the Liga ARCO Odrisamer Despaigne notched his fifth win over the year after tossing 6 ⅔ innings in which he gave up three runs via four hits and retired eight via the strikeout in Ciudad Obregón’s 8-5 win over Navojoa. His countrymen and teammates Luis Avilés Jr and Josuan Hernández combined for three hits and three runs batted in to aid the cause for the Yaquis.
In the LIDOM José Barrero knocked in a run one night after going yard to do his part in las Estrellas Orientales victory over by the count of 6-2. Barrero saw his average rise to .216 on the season. The team from San Pedro de Macoris is second in the league going into the Round Robin.
