Edgar Quero is granted permission to play with FEPCUBE.

White Sox prospect Edgar Quero was given permission by the organization to participate with the Cuban Federation of Professional Baseball Players (FEPCUBE) in the Intercontinental Series that will take place in Barranquilla, Colombia from January 25th to February 1st.

Quero who signed in February of 2021 for 200,000 with the Angels is now the #3 prospect for the pale holes and has moved rapidly through the minors leagues and projects to be in the big show by 2025 at the latest. The young Cuban has gone to U-15 phenom to a top catching prospect in no time.


In 2022 he saw action in 111 games in Class A with the Inland Empire 66ers where he slashed .312/.435/.530/.965, swatting 129 hits, 35 doubles, two triples, blasting 17 home runs, drawing 73 bases on balls (14.2%) , stealing 12 bases and knocking in 75 runs. He also led his team in runs scored (86), hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, OBP (.435), SLG (.530), and OPS (.965) on the season.

This season at Double A he is slashed .255/.380/.351/.731 with six longballs and 57 RBIs. The switch-hitting catcher barrels up the ball consistently from both sides of the plate and also moves very well behind the dish defensively. The 20-year-old also has a rocket for and arm and expect him to do the bulk of the catching for FEPCUBE in Colombia.
