Yunesky Maya shines in Lara’s shutout of Margarita. (+Winter League Report)

Although he did not factor in the decision Yunesky Maya tossed four scoreless innings where he only gave up three hits to do his part in Lara’s 7-0 shutout of the Bravos de Margarita. The right-hander watched his ERA dropped to 3.00 after two starts.

In the LIDOM, Yadiel Hernández laced a key seventh inning double to pace Licey’s 3-1 victory over their arch-rival Leones del Escogido. In his first game back from a wrist injury, the native of Matanzas, Cuba also scored a run and is now hitting .321 in the Dominican postseason.

In Nicaragua, Alay Lago collected two hits in five trips to the plate and also swatted a eighth inning double to help el Tren del Norte in their 10-5 win over the Gigantes de Rivas in Game 1 of their finals series. For Rivas Yosmany Guerra knocked in two in a losing cause.
