JC Escarra knocks in a run, but Carolina falls in Game 3 to Caguas. (+Winter League Report)

JC Escarra swatted a run-scoring seventh inning double amongst his two hits in two official at-bats, but his best efforts could prevent Carolina from falling 3-2 to Caguas in the LBPRC final. The Criollos now lead the series 2-1. The Cuban-American was also named to the All-LBPRC last weekend by the league.

Escarra is now hitting a solid .275 in the postseason. For Caguas Pedro León went 0-for-3, but managed to score a run to help the cause for “La Yeguita” and saw his postseason average drop to .207. The Criollos are now two games away from their 21st league title.

Yosmany Guerra continues to pace Rivas in their finals series against “El Tren del Norte”, the infielder collected two hits in four trips to the plate, drove in a run and scored a run to do his part in the Gigantes 10-6 win over Esteli. Guerra is hitting a robust .348 on the postseason and Rivas is one game from the Serie del Caribe.
