Jorge Soler collected two hits in three trips to the plate, one of them being his first roundtripper of the campaign in San Francisco’s 5-4 loss to their eternal rival Los Angeles Dodgers. The slugger also knocked in a run and scored on another occasion to see his average rise to .238 on the young season.
Yandy Díaz and Randy Arozarena combined for two hits, two runs batted in and two runs scored to do their part in Tampa Bay’s 5-2 win over Texas. The two Cubans are hitting .261 and .300 respectively on the campaign.
Although Néstor Cortés only gave up three runs in five innings of work the Cuban left-hander took his first loss of the campaign in New York’s defeat at the hands of Arizona 7-0. The southpaw saw his ERA fall to 6.30 on the campaign.
