Adolis García had a perfect evening, two of his three hits driving in runs and also scoring a run to lead Texas to a 6-2 victory over Oakland. The native of Ciego de Ávila, Cuba is now fifth in the majors with 13 runs batted in and is slugging a gaudy .519 over his last seven games.
Tristón Casas swatted his second longball on the season and drove in two runs, but the Redsox’s still dropped a 7-5 decision to the Orioles. After a slow start to the season the Cuban-American is hitting .346 in his last seven games.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr collected two hits in five trips to the plate and knocked in two runs to do his part in Arizona’s 5-3 win over Colorado. The outfielder is now first amongst Cubans with 14 RBIs and is hitting a solid .308 on the campaign.
