Heisell Baro saw his first action of the season in the Frontier League tossing 1⅔ innings of scoreless relief in New England’s 6-4 win over Ottawa. The ex-Dodger prospect walked two ND struck out three to open the campaign with a 0.00 ERA.
Baro who was released by the Dodgers during the 2022 season posted a 5-5 record, 3.87 ERA and saved one game in three seasons on the farm with the team from tinsel town primarily as a reliever.
Yoelqui Céspedes in his own right made his debut in the American Association going 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Fargo-Moorehead’s 4-3 win over Lincoln. The once heralded prospect was released earlier this season by the Chicago White Sox.
