J.D. Martínez’s homer lifts Mets to a win over the Diamondbacks. (+Cuban MLB Report)

J.D. Martínez went yard for the fourth time on the season in the eighth inning to decide the Mets 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks. The Cuban-American slugger has now driven in 12 runs on the season and is hitting a solid .273 with the team.

Right-hander Alex Faedo tossed a scoreless inning in which he fanned a batter to notch his fifth hold of the season in Detroit’s 5-0 blanking of the Boston. The hurler now sports a 3.41 ERA on the season and has struck out 11 in his last seven outings.

Carlos Rodón notched his seventh win of the campaign after his fifth straight quality start. The left-hander threw six innings in which he gave up three earned runs via three hits and struck out five in New York’s 8-3 win over the Angels. The southpaw’s ERA fell to 3.09 on the season and has sports a 1.13 WHIP.
