Liván Moinelo left without a decision after allowing one run and three hits in seven solid innings of work, in which he fanned nine batters and walked two. His record remained at 2-2 and his ERA dropped to 1.77, leaving him second in the Nippon League in that statistical category.

Ariel Martínez singled once in three trips to the plate and walked one in the Nippon Ham Fighters’ 4-3, 10-inning loss to the DeNA Stars. His average rose to .257 and is making a case for his second straight All-Star in the Nippon League.

Río Gómez tossed 1⅓ scoreless innings in Wei-Chaun’s 4-3 loss to Brothers. The Cuban-American right-hander also fanned two and saw his ERA fall 1.10. Gómez also is third in the league in holds and sports a 0.80 WHIP.
