Yoel Yanqui hit his sixth homer of the season in a game in which he went 2-for-3, with three runs scored, a walk and also drove in three runs. It was his tenth extra-base hit of the campaign (3 2B, 1 3B and 6 HR) and he now places second in RBIs in the LMBP with 18, in hits with 22, is co-leader in runs scored (17), while also being fourth in average (.458 ). Carabobo fell to Caracas 12-8 on the day.
Dariel Álvarez hit his fourth homer of the season for the Senadores. Álvarez hit third for Caracas and went 3 for 5 with the aforementioned home run, three doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. The outfielder is now hitting .366 (41 AB; 15 H), has nine extra-base hits (5 2B and 4 HR) and 13 RBIs.
For the Marineros Reynaldo Álvarez tossed a scoreless inning in relief to watch his ERA fall to 1.68 on the season. The hard-throwing righty from Santiago de Cuba has been a great addition to the team’s bullpen.
