Liván Moinelo shuts down DeNA in a SoftBank win. (+Asian League Report)

Liván Moinelo earned his third victory of the campaign this Friday after allowing one run and five hits in eight innings of work in the SoftBank Hawks’ 10-1 victory over the DeNA Stars at Yokohama Stadium.

The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba also struck out seven batters and walked one in the game, his record is now 3-2 and his ERA dropped to 1.70. This leaves him  second in the Pacific League in that statistical category. The hurler also went 1-for-4 at the plate, collecting  his first hit as a professional and scored a run on the day.

Ariel Martínez swatted his seventh longball of the among his three hits in four trips to the plate to do his part in Nippon Ham’s 5-4 win over Yakult. The slugger also drove in a run on the day and now hits .254 on the season.
