Yordan Álvarez homered for the 14th time on the campaign, a two-run blast in the sixth inning during Houston’s 5-3 loss to the Giants. The slugger from Las Tunas, Cuba has now driven in 35 runs and is hitting a blistering .345 over the last month.
Nick Castellanos doubled, tripled and scored twice in Philadelphia’s 8-6 loss to the Red Sox. The Cuban-American outfielder swatted his 350th double on the night and is now hitting .216 on the season. Castellanos also tripled for the second time on the campaign.
Although the White Sox ‘s fell to the Mariners’ 2-1, pale holes’ outfielder Luis Robert went yard for the sixth time on the season. The toolsy outfielder saw his average rise to a miniscule .196 and knocked in his ninth run during his injury plagued campaign.
