Yasiel Puig went yard twice and knocked in three runs in six trips to the plate in Veracruz’s 10-9 loss to Puebla. The outfielder also scored twice on the day and saw his average rise to .299 and has driven in 19 runs on the campaign. Puig also sports a robust 1.048 OPS in limited action due to injury this season.
Leonys Martín deposited two balls in the stands and drove in two runs, but Querétaro fell to Quintana Roo 12-6. The slugger is second in the LMB with 21 longballs. Yurisbel Gracial also did his part to help the offense with three hits, a run batted in and a run scored on the evening. Martín and Gracial now hit .335 and .375 respectively.
Yoan López notched his third win of the season after tossing a two innings of scoreless one-hit ball in Unión Laguna’s 12-6 thrashing of Durango. The 2024 All-Star saw his ERA descend to a miniscule 1.26 on the year. Without a doubt the righty from the Isle of Youth has been the best Cuban reliever in the Lifa Mexicana de Béisbol.
