Raisel Iglesias notched his 19th save of the season after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in which he struck out a batter to secure the Braves’ 2-1 triumph over the Detroit Tigers. The hurler has now saved 11 of his last 15 outings and has a 2.60 ERA on the season.
Nick Castellanos swatted four hits in five trips to the plate, drove in a run and scored on an occasion during Philly’s 4-3 win over San Diego. The outfielder has smashed 12 doubles on the season and saw his average rise to .219 on the season.
Randy Arozarena went yard for the 10th time on the campaign and knocked in three runs, but the Tampa Bay Rays fell to the Minnesota Twins 7-6. The struggling outfielder is hitting a solid .273 over his last 15 games and showing signs of breaking out of a season long slump.
Andy Pagés and Miguel Vargas combined for a homer, two runs batted in and three runs scored to do their part in a Dodgers’ 11-9 comeback win over the Rockies. For Pagés it was his eighth longball on the season and Vargas is hitting a blistering .353 over his last seven games.
