Daysbel Hernández scoreless inning streak rose to 7⅔ on the season after pitching 1⅔ innings of no-run ball in Atlanta’s 4-3 loss to St. Louis. The right-hander has also fanned 10 batters over that span.
Cionel Pérez tossed 1⅓ of scoreless ball in relief, but the Orioles still fell to Cleveland 3-2. The left-hander from Matanzas,Cuba also fanned a batter and saw his ERA fall to 4.57 on the campaign. Pérez has only allowed six runs in his last 15 outings.
Yandy Díaz collected two hits in five trips to the plate and drove in two runs to do his part in Tampa’s 4-3 win over the Mariners. The Cuban slugger is hitting a robust .394 over his last seven games. Díaz also saw his RBI rise to 38 on the campaign.
Adolis García went yard for the 14th time on the season, drove in a run and scored a run, but his best efforts could not stave off a Texas 6-3 defeat at the hands of Brewers. García is second amongst Cubans in MLB with 42 RBIs.
