Yadir Drake swatted three hits in four trips to the plate, including a third inning two-run homer to pace Yucatán’s 7-4 win over Quintana Roo. In total the slugger drove in three runs and scored twice to watch his average rise to .326 on the season.
Yadiel Hernández homered in his only hit in four at-bats, his 11th longball on the campaign and also scored a run in Dos Laredos’ 13-5 loss to Monclova. The native of Matanzas, Cuba watched his average fall below .300 for the first time on the season, but upped his RBI total to 53.
Lázaro Alonso and Luis Avilés Jr combined for six hits, three runs batted in and three runs scored, but the Caliente de Durango still fell to Saltillo 13-12. Alonso saw his average rise to .294, while Avilés is now hitting .275 on the campaign.
Henry Urrutia continues to hit the cover off the ball as of late. The talented veteran laced three hits in five at-bats last night, drove in a run and scored twice in Leon’s 14-10 defeat to Querétaro. Urrutia is now hitting a robust and familiar .354 on the season.
