In the NPB Cristián Rodríguez singled in three trips to plate and drove in a run to raise his average to .176 in the Chunichi Dragons’ 2-0 victory over the Hiroshima Carps at the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya. For the highly regarded rookie shortstop it was his RBI in the Nippon big leagues.
In the CPBL Cuban-American Río Gómez tossed in a scoreless inning in relief during the Wei-Chaun Dragons 6-1 loss to the TSG Hawks. The hurler saw his ERA descend to 1.12. The left-hander also sports a sterling 0.83 WHIP on the season making him one of the most dominant relievers in the circuit.
Their was no action in the KBO today, but tomorrow at 5pm at Landers’ Field in Incheon. The only Cuban that will participate in the game is outfielder Guillermo Heredia of the hometown SSG squad.
