Rusney Castillo went yard for the third time on the season, a second inning two-run blast to pace Querétaro to a 12-2 thrashing of Yucatán. The outfielder has also knocked in three runs on the night and is hitting .313 in his short time with the Conspiradores.
Yosmany Guerra and Leonys Martín also homered the evening, while Yurisbel Gracial swatted two hits, drove in a run and scored a run to help the cause. Gracial and Guerra are now hitting .384 and .340 respectively. Martín in own right is second in the LMB with 28 longballs. Carlos Juan Viera earned the victory for the Mexican squad after tossing five innings of five-hit, two-run ball ball to see his ERA descend to 7.80 on the season.
Ariel Miranda pitched five innings in which he gave up two runs and struck out seven to notch his third win on the season. Campeche downed Oaxaca 10-3 and the left-hander now sports a 3.59 earned run average on the season. Miranda has now fanned 65 batters in 62⅓ innings pitched this year.
Yadiel Hernández hit his 13th homer of the season, a two-run blast in the eighth inning, but Dos Laredos still fell to Unión Laguna 8-5. The native of Matanzas, Cuba has been a key RBI guy for the Tecolotes knocking in 61 on the season.
